Position: General Manager

Hours: minimum 25 per week

Wage: £11 per hour

Primary duties

• Greeting customers and briefing them before the game starts
• Observing customers playing the rooms and offering hints where necessary
• Resetting rooms between teams
• Identifying and reporting any necessary maintenance or repairs

• Must be available to work evenings and weekends
• Must have a driving license and your own vehicle due to the remote location (CB23 4GG)
• Confident engaging with the general public (ideally with some customer service experience)
• Good standard of written English
• Responsible attitude and comfortable with working solo
• Experience of / interest in escape rooms a bonus!

We guarantee a minimum of 25 hours’ pay per week. Depending on customer demand, some of this time may be spent in routine tidying/maintenance. During busy periods, there will often be opportunities for overtime.

The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting teams, briefing them before their game, running the rooms and providing hints during the game and then post-game debriefs. You’ll need to help teams feel welcome, and make sure they are confident about the game and understand the technical requirements of the game itself (full training will be provided). 

It’s important the teams know they can ask you for help during the game, and that you can clearly communicate the hints to them during the game itself.

After each game, you’ll need to reset the rooms in order to be ready for the next team, which needs to be done accurately in order to ensure the next game runs correctly. This is also the opportunity to ensure the game is running correctly, and identify anything that needs maintenance or repairs.

Overall it is a fun role, and helping the teams to overcome the puzzles and challenges is a rewarding experience.
